Question: A generous man returns from market with a small bag of tomatoes. To the first person he meets he gives half of his tomatoes plus 1/2 of a tomato. To the second person he meets he gives person he meets he gives half of his tomatoes plus 1/2 of a tomato. To the third person he again gives person he meets he gives half of his tomatoes plus 1/2 of a tomato. He looks into the bag to find he has no more tomatoes. Another question: A man has 9 children born at regular intervals. The sum of the squares of their ages is equal to the square of his own age... what are the ages of the children?

    Daddy= 48 yrs.
    The children = 2, 5, 8, 11, 14, 17, 20, 23, & 26 yrs.

D'oh! those were far too easy ... I need a really good one. ;)

    Another warm up:
What rather peculiar property does this group of words have in common? ( cover, dust, left, transparent )

    [IMG] And another gold star!

But if we choose the harder ones the thread dies.. its all in fun!

Its in their meanings. His thoughts were transparent (meaning visible) when he saw he in the transparent nightie (meaning invisible). The politician's emenies moved quickly to cover (disclose) the details of his cover (conceal) story to the press.

Find 4 numbers, the sum of which is 45, so that if 2 is added to the first number, 2 is subtracted from the second number, the third is multiplied by 2, and the fourth is divided by two, then the 4 numbers produced are all the same.

    Easy one:

How can you throw a ball so that it goes a short distance, comes to a total stop, reverses its motion, and then goes the opposite way. You are not allowed to bounce it against anything, hit it with anything, or tie it to anything.

Throw it in the air so it will be travelling in an upward direction then stop and travell in a downward direction.

Not great at these but does anyone which cheese is made backwards?

This one's fun... reminds me of Black_Kats meanderings!

    Logical Nonsense:
•All, who neither dance on tight ropes nor eat monkey cracker lamps, are old.
•Sock Monkeys that are liable to giddiness are treated with respect.
•A wise balloonist takes an umbrella with him.
•No one ought to lunch in public who looks ridiculous and eats monkey cracker lamps.
•Young creatures who go up in balloons are liable to giddiness.
•Fat creatures who look ridiculous may lunch in public if they do not dance on tight-ropes.
•No wise creatures dance on tight-ropes if they are liable to giddiness.
•A sock monkey looks ridiculous carrying an umbrella.
•All, who do not dance on tight-ropes and who are treated with respect, are fat.

•Therefore, no wise young sock monkeys...

    5+2=7
    7-2=5
    11*2=22
    22/2=11
    45

that's a VERY cool way to do it - but not the answer in mind... the #'s after the "=" sign on each should be all the same...

Was that a question G??....
