Kelly, I find it most curious that you have so many questions about this
particular drum. Why exactly is that?
And why not take it to e-mail? Unless, of course, you feel that the answers
you seek are of particular interest to this group.
    Can you please clarify?

Maybe she would like to buy from the same source! The question could be

She is probably curious in part since it's made of Jarrah ply and has a
similar outer ply that Brady uses also.

I'll take it to email from now on. Anyone who knows me knows I watch
Ebay auctions and usually ask lots of questions (it ain't just you),
as it assists with tracking, history etc. Last week, there was a guy
on the Evans Board chasing the history (including owners right back to
creation date) of a used snare in a studio and another one a few days
ago from one of our RMMP'ers about another Ebay drum. I like to be as
thorough and precise as possible. Most people are happy to help.

It's unfair to Mr. Polis to assume that he's hiding anything other than a
source. And I for one will remember your veiled innuendo of impropriety and
will always consider your motivations are suspect when I read your future

    Re: Mark Polis

I have no problem with your asking questions about any of my eBay auctions,
Kelly. It's the fact that you posted this one on RMMP that intrigues me.
That, the fact that your name is Brady, and the drum being a Bill Flynn
    creation.
Now you'd originally sent me an e-mail through eBay's message service with
some questions regarding this snare drum to which I responded; but you then
also "pinged" me here on RMMP to pose yet another question (regarding the
source of the drum), which led me to believe that you felt that your
question(s) regarding the drum (source, badge, inscriptions, date of
procurement, etc.) might have some interest to the group at large. Other
than stimulating an assortment of resident would-be armchair psychiatrists /
gossip mongers and one village idiot (that'd be you, Tom), I don't believe
    it does.
I hope to see you bidding on this very fine snare drum, Kelly. I'm offering
it at a fraction of what I paid for it. The craftsmanship is impeccable, its
sound and visual appeal are simply stunning, and if I could justify owning a
7x12 (which, alas, has little application to the type of jazz music I'm
playing these days) I'd never let it go.

I believe that they would. it would benefit everyone here to learn of the
    issues regarding this drum's manufacturer.

Mark Polis wanted everyone in rec.music.makers.percussion to know that

well, I don't know about all that...
(to the point that I'm really not sure about your statement here.
    are you being sarcastic?)

and really, I was just throwing in my $.02

yes she can. and I'm not trying to speak for her; I was just voicing my
opinion on the matter, with just a bit of presumption on the side.

yes they are! I love them to death. but, of course, I want to buy more
of them. :) I think that a 7x12" will be next on the list. I think it
will be a sheoak block, as I've heard that that size with that wood is a
    wonderful combination.

Don't you dare. We need more people like you here, exposing criminals like
Mark! He probably got the snare from Peter Criss! ... or maybe he won it in
a drawing at the local "Bonham is god" craft fair. Either way, he's been
exposed now for all to see! <insert evil laugh here> :)
