I've logged a few thousand miles as a passenger in an X-5. If you have small children who require a carseat, forget it.
I was told over and over that this particular X-5 was absolutely LOADED, though i really didn't notice anything unusual.

I'm 6'3 and about 250 pounds, and I was able to comfortably fit in the front and back seat. The ride was very very hard and I felt every single anomaly in the pavement.

They finally got rid of the X-5 in favor or a Cadillac CTS and a GMC Denali. The X-5 started having all sorts of problems after about a year and a half. The heater went out, something happened with the radiator, etc.

The X-5 certainly had more room than the CTS car but I'll keep my Toyota Minivan....with 1.5 kids.

it depends on which x5... if it's the 4.6is vs. the ML55 AMG, then I'd definately go with the x5, but if it's a lesser x5 vs. the ml55, then i'd get the ml just because it sounds oh so sweet... haha... but if it's against any of the other ml's, then just go for the x5 because the quality in the bimmer is much better than in the benz... the benz literally feels like it could break easily.
