Cakewalk audio dropout

    Hey guys... im using cakewalk sonar 3... and ive started using some audio in there now... only thing is.. alot of the time when im recording... recording stops and i get a message saying Auido dropout..... any ideas whats goin on here?

    Almost certainly a buffering issue. You need to increase the buffer size and put up with the additional latency. Of course, this assumes you have already optimised your computer for audio work.

    Alternatively, you will have to seriously think about a new machine.

    Sometimes I get this problem too, just make sure you aren't running any other programs that are slowing things down. And stop other background programs which aren't nessisary such as GUI skinning etc.

    One great tool I have found which helps shutdown unwated background services and programs is called FSautostart

    It was developed for people playing flightsims, but it totally agnostic to which application its used for. For me it cuts out annoying tasks that cuase my machine occasionally stutter... or drop... try it, its free :)
