I can't seem to download midi files, but zip files seem to work for me. What do i do?
same as i
im a reeeeaallly new newbie....and i dont know how things work here..still confused... help...
i keep trying but am getting frustrated now!
I have seen many peeps with this same deal happeing. I think the Mods look and asses the first 5 posts you made.
they prolly determine if your 1st 5 posts are spam and stuff.
be patiently and you will soon be able to DL files.
(Great pic Vic!!!!)
Mostly you see people saying this BEFORE they get their 5 posts - they fill up once they get the info....
no help yet...?
Sorry Yak..... are you "right-click save-as"-ing??
for some reason i have that problem too.
I'm having the same problem too
i have sent 5 posts but dont understand where to get the midis from do you ???
you get them in the request forum but they keep saving as attachment files for some reason
i click the attachment file.. and it downloads automatically.
Windows Media Player pops up saying it "Can't open".
what's going on??
i've tried also downloading other midi's but the same thing keeps happening..!
having same problem with media player also -cannot copy them--i am getting a little worried about what to ask, here, reading some of these help question--for beginners like my self--maybe this board is to advance for the beginners?---they might have forgoten what it is like to just get started again, joeb1
i've been having the same problem earlier but this is what i found out, the file is getting downloaded as an attachment because your id no. or log on no., whatever is being denied by the server. why? for some reason i kept getting logged out eventhou i'm logged in.
so what i did is, i copied the adress of the page where the file i want is posted and paste it 2 da window where i just logged in, then i try saving the file again. it worked for me... hope it does for you too......
Right click and 'SAVE AS' (do I hear an echo??) This is a database so the informantion is not stored the same way as other web pages....
occasionally someone will upload an attachment with an apostrophe in the title ('), unfortunately the apostrophe reads funny and saves as /' which doesn't download properly... I'll go through the steps as to how to download it BUT if this is you problem click the "report" link under the user info in the post and someone will fix it (eventually!)
downloading filenames with a /' in the middle:
1. Right click and choose "Save As" (darn echo)
2. change bottom dropdown box to "all files"
3. rename the file to artistandtitle.mid (where "artistandtitle" is the info for the song you're downloading.... and try not to use apostrophes, just in case!)
4. click Save button.... voila..... you should be able to play it!
it's becoming hard work!
Separate names with a comma.
