Converting MP3 & Wav to Midi For those who have mp3s or wavs which need converting to a midi you might like to consider the following freeware programme: TS-AudioToMidi Realtime Converter When converting an mp3 to a midi with TS-Audio you will need to first convert it to a wav file which can be done in another freeware programme such as Audacity. After you have exported it to a wav, simply open the wav file in TS Audio (which by the way, if the piano starts to play as soon as you open the programme, click on the top right hand arrow next to midi ouput to automaitically clear the device). Once opened you can then convert the file to a midi using a selection of options. You can also add special effects if so inclined! Trust the above freeware progammes assist. Good Luck!
I grant you it could come with a few more instructions but once you get the hang of it then it's not too bad. The key is to leave the deafult settings as they are and only mess around with the special effects. While there are a number of good freeware programmes available for converting files to an mp3 or wav, there are so few freeware products out there for the reverse, i.e. converting to a midi. If anyone knows of another wav to midi programme (that's free) then let me know as I'm open to suggestions.
It is and it isn't. You can convert a wav to a midi (not necessarily 100%) it all depends on the tune your converting. That is, the way in which the original tune was constructed re instruments and vocals, etcetera. I converted a vocal and piano wav file to a midi with TS Audio (see above for link) using just the paino setting. It tweaked the vocals to a soft clink and the effect while unusual was quite acceptable. I think it all depends on individual tastes and how desperate you want a midi! At the end of the day you can only try. Sometimes it works. Sometimes it doesn't!
