Yeah, I noticed quite a bit of stuff on Kazaa sounds all static and stuff now...I've stopped using it, plus all this idea that the law is cracking down on it has kind of worn the novelty off pretty quick.

There's not an option for legal downloading, which is now fairly widespread.

file sharing has become more or less a part of our generation...and for record companies to think that they can somehow stop it is utter foolishness

Filesharing seems to be a necessary evil at the moment, i mean, there is no way to stop it, and often the music that people want can be rare or hard to find. plus people in some countries don't have access to releases from others, or if they do, import costs are extortionate. plus we all know that the record companies can make a cd for very little money, so how can they justify charging so much money for an album. i know the artists have to make a living. perhaps if artists offered samples to listen to on their sites, and the music companies offered sampler cds at a cheaper rate (a bit like the free cds we sometimes get in the uk when we buy an album) plus cheaper albums, then it might encourage cd buying.

oh i forgot to add how extortionate singles are in the uk, you pay almost half as much as an album costs and only get about 3 or 4 tracks, of which some of them are often the same, just remixes.

    capitalism sucks.

For me, it's not that I'm scared of the police crashing down my door, it's that the sharing program I keep stupidly downloading - Kazaa - takes up too much space. If I can't find what I'm looking for there, then I'm stuck with paying for it or grabbing the MIDI, which I need to do in my current situation.

I use file share on an almost regular basis but you still have to buy cd's if you want to keep getting new music.(keep the music coming) advertising crap, I know but it makes sense.

After all X-Factor the artist isn't the only one responsible for bringing you the tunes you love.......
