btw: if musicians invested more into a good looking cd and/or booklet, more people would buy it.

I think I've downloaded everything. Since getting broadband I find myself having downloaded so much with nothing more to download. I thank KazaA but I understand kazaa may not be around forever cos all the chickens will get rid of it in case they get caught so the network will probably die out - I hope this isn't the case but there'll always be others I spose.

Kazaa is the best. Napster didn't really make that big an impact when it returned. At my university we have our own P2P networking software called LUSer NET which is better than anything. We get speeds of around 1Mb/sec.

Are there any actual fulltime working musicians on this board and are you actually agreeing with these arguments? Yes, CD's are expensive, but does anyone actually understand the expenses involved in writing, producing, recording, printing and distributing an album? Theft is theft, whether it's stealing a car or an artists form of income. Loss of income is one of the reasons crappy fillers are put onto CD's - why bother paying a good writer when your profit margin is being cut, by the very people who are supposed to be supporting you. On the other hand, maybe more artists should follow George Michael and release online only. Newsflash - majority of artist income comes from performances as opposed to royalty collections of CD sales - you can't use the argument "I don't but CD's cos the guys have money" but go watch a show.

Why does the arguement only focus on the recording industry ?
What about Adobe being ripped off for photoshop profits ?
How about all of the Gamers ripping off the latest cd before it even hits the market ?

Why Should we pay for email because someone spams us ?

    Bit Torrent

Bit Torrent is the fastest most effiecent way of downloading files without having to worry about being traced since it goes directly from computer to computer and its what I use for my d/ling after i got fed up with Kazaa. Kudos on your report.

I sometimes use downloading stuff, but it's usually only for Karaoke, or Singles (If the Karaoke and the Single are availble, I buy it usually). I usually get it out of my hard drive in about 24 hours. I'm totally against burning full CD's though.
