Do a search for "spybot" excellent program. After locating and destroying all your spyware, it has a function that you can use to "immunize" you against all the known trojans, worms, etc.

This is nothing new... We have discussed this literally several times in just the past couple months. If you have something to say about the program that we have not already talked about in our topics, please feel free to add to them.

I'll second that for adaware. just make sure you do an update before you scan!

I use both Ad-Aware and Spybot S&D for my cleanup routines for people. From my experience, one can not have one without the other.

Trust me, Zandro knows best. Run both. Ask him about sound fonts and watch him go crazy and tell you all about previous threads. Another one that drives him (as well as myself) is talk about wave/mp3 to midi converters.

Seriously, he's quite a wealth of knowledge, but has little patience for repeating threads, such as this one.

    Hm? ... Hmm..... ??

I don't know whether I should feel complimented or insulted. Please take the confusion away.

No it was a compliment. I've learned quite a bit of stuff from your input to several threads. I also noticed a low tolerance for repeating threads. I've appreciated all your input.

    Sorry for the confusion.

I use Firefox instead of Internet Explorer and I find that almost all of my spyware related programs are gone.

No, they're still there, but they rely on Internet Explorer as its host through the program's use of BHOs (browser helper obejcts). I also have been using Firefox 1.0PR, and I will never return to Internet Explorer. I only wish Kim Komando would do the same, but she puts too much trust in Microsfoft as her endorser. :p

Yep, well that's why I said "almost", I certainly have less sypware problems than I used to, with changes homepages and such.

But of course you can still get spyware related problems by installing infected software like Kaz@@, Firefox won't prevent that.

"Ada-Ware" ? sounds like a knock off of "Ad-Aware"

Hmm... stinkers. ;) At least it is legit product, not the scams I see often from mistyping URLs.
