Try karawin. it's easy to use although there's an annoying popup if you want it free.
I use van bascos.
I have to say I've never actually karaoke'd drunk... but it's really hilarious and fun to watch other drunk peopel karaoke haha
Ease of use?
I see a bunch of peeps use VanBasco... how easy is it to use?
If it's on the powerful side--what would you recommend for a n00b?
Much thanks in advanced.
Is it free ware, share ware or commercial?
mp3 + cdg
I jus' got the Van Basco software... it's awesome! But what would all recommend for MP3 + cdg files?
Any help would be great! Thanks in advanced...
Van Basco's tha best!
Which is the best one?
I've used vanbasco for the karaoke player, and for the midi search - its proved very helpful alot of the time!!!
but i dont really ever use the karaoke feature of vanbasco's - only use it to listen to midi's
Harmony Assistant kicked up a notch with Gold sound base and Virtual Singer, does other stuff too.
KaraWin e GoSing
vanBasco doesn't work perfectly in kar file is damaged
i use wingroove, it's marvellous;, I love it
i'd like van basco's karaoke too, it's... just the bestone
I also use Vanbasco (and I don't know the other program)
van Basco as well
As a semi-professional musician using midi/kar files for backing, I have tried lots of different programs, including Van Basco. It is free and reasonably simple to use, but has some limitations.
I now use Karawin - the latest version allows you to play kar and mid files, reads directly from zipped files, and also plays wav and mp3 files including mp3 with id3 lyric tags.
It also has a "second voice" option which displays lyrics enclosed in square brackets in a different color - I use this for displaying chords.
Having now used this program for 3 years, I had a look at the latest Van Basco and it doesn't come close to providing the features I need.
I use VanBasco
I use my own one, not the best one. It's only in version one. So, there's a long way to go
But I can use it to run slide show (while singing) for my digital photos and it allows me to mute the (vocal) melody which is detected automatically.
I can't mention the name of the player here because it's a shareware and commercial is not allowed
