I believe Fruityloops 3.56 will always be better.
I haven't tried 4.0, but 3.56 is very good.
I have tried both, and I can honestly say, it's just really a preference. If you've used one for a long time use it. There isn't much of a difference between the two, so if you're thinking of switching over to 4.0 not a big deal at all. I used to use 3.5 then I got Studio Producer 4.0. But I don't use Fruity anymore now that I have Reason
I also have tried both versions. But I like the older 3.56 version better.
I own both Fruity Versions. I use Fruity Loops 3.56 alot and I personaly find 4.0 abit more complex to manage. So I will stick with version 3.56.
Proof of my music done in Fruity Loops is located here:
Fruityloops 4.x is far superior.
What I wish they wold include in the next version is when using the piano roll you can select the scale you want to work in and then all the notes not in that scale would be greyed out and unselectable.
i've been off for a while, what's the current version? FL Studio 4.5? I have it and must say, that it's a kind of software you must have, if you mean your music serious!
fruity loops 3.56
Fruity Loops 3.56 is way better to me
I got both, some of the plug-ins for 4.0 didnt work. I use 3.56, the only thing i like on 4.0 is the look. so im swapping out the graphics to make it look better. it's ghetto but it works for me
