I'm very happy to meet this forum at this site. Maybe it's because of my feedback mail - who knows.

to get things off the ground i'll try to meet as much requests for karaoke files i can.

Is there a way to depict these files from the "normal" midi's ? my suggestion would be: give them the ".kar" extension. (I know, I haven't found it out myself).

Trouble is that most people don't know if they're a karaoke midi or not unless they play the midi through van basco or similar. I see a couple of new forums especially for karaoke have been set up.

    kar and mid

The 'midix' player works well with both types of karaoke file (files with .mid and .kar extensions).
Is anyone else using the 'midix' player? Which player do you prefer?

VanB's plays both KAR and MID files - it will display graphics/additional information for either filetype.
