I based it on my personal experience with a 94, 99, 82 and 73. The
82 has the most miles and has cost me thousands less to repair than
the late models. I was only speaking of my personal experience.

    I didn't write that.

So here it is. You finally admit it. You've waited a long time.
No, that doesn't sound like someone who wants to feel superior.
    Sounds passive aggressive to me.

BTW, did you see the part where I said you know more about cars than
    me? No, of course not.

Ok fine, now here is your lesson.

Map sensor. What does it do?
What is feedback loop, versus open loop?
    OBD II, what is it?
How do you read the codes from any GM frist generation OBD without a scan tool?
Will advancing the timing increase NOX or decrease it?

What are some key differences between OBD II and first generation OBD systems?

    I know the feeling.

I've got a 96 Ford WindStar with 224K miles on it. Been through some
brakes, ignition issues, tires, and an alternator, but have the original
engine and transmission. I'm hoping it lasts another 3 years, so I can get
a new car before my son turns 16 and the insurance companies consider him
    the primary driver.

I attribute a good part of its longevity to not letting the fine folks at
the local Ford dealer do the mx on it.
