what would be the best program to use to get good quality recording
Cubase is fine..........however, a good quality recording is also dependant upon many aspects such as:-
-Quality of mics, guitar, cables etc.
-Quality of recording hardware (eg: Soundcard)
Here are some other programs you may want to consider:
-Digital performer (macintosh based;audio and midi)
-Soundforge by sonic foundry (PC based; only Audio)
-Cool edit pro (PC based; only Audio)
Try Sonar XL 2.0 ... This program is all you should need. Actually, I would compare Sonar to Pro Tools, I've been using Cakewalk since version 1.0
I'll second the SONAR nomination, although the XL version is not a necessity.
