This subject had beed discussed here earlier but from experience , I tried
    two sofwares.

    1. I used a DART pro (http://proaudiomusic.com) to directly record from
MIDI to WAV. But the recording is good only as the soundfonts or Softsynth
loaded on your PC. Some CD Burning software has this capability also.

    2. I also used Total Recorder from High Criteria (http://highcriteria.com/)
It is a bit cumbersome but an produce good quality WAV file. You
playback the song and capture with Total Recorder. I paid only USD10 for my
Total Recorder Ver 2 and they upgraded me to ver4.2 , so its very good
money. I also use this to record from my synths .

  6. Have a look at my free tool SynthFont at www.synthfont.com. It has a number
of unique features, if I dare to say.

I have converted midi files to .wav files but have done it the "old fashioned"
and tedious way and that's by playing the midi and recording it onto sound
recorded which saves it as a wav.
