writing 20+ songs is crazy, and pronbably most sound the same. Tone it down some.
Thats very ture..
In addition to writing there is a lot of arranging and remixing I do. Lots of older song (especially Jazz and Movie tunes) sound so boring. but if you modify them a little and use different styles they make sense again. I do this for a Jazz-Punk-Acid-Funk Trio.
kind off, anyway.
I think you're being very narrow minded there man. I've written about 100 acoustic songs, bout the same rock songs, a dozen or so punk songs, 5 classsical numbers and 24 songs for musicals, all very different styles about a variety of subjects!!
Don't think any two sound the same!!
writing's my hobby..i'm busy with studies so i only write when i've loads of time esp after exams..
normally they just come 2 me..i've lots 2 write about but when the mood's there then only something good can come out
Currently doing midi arrangements of a few songs by a friend. I use finale for notation. This can export and import midi files. I use cubase VST on a pc
I'd love to make new songs... I 'd wish I could connect to my computer, butthe system won't work
I've probably written about 400 or so original ...not so many the past several years ,but when the bug hits me...!!! I've been altering covertunes here lately and putting a few creative pieces together but not enough for a song quite yet.
i generally write 50 -100 songs per year but most of them suck
ive never written a song in MIDI...well, i tried but i sucked at it so i said screw it.
When I was still studying in school, I had more time to compose midi songs, but I started working, things have slowed down.
But with this website here, I'm forcing myself to pick it up again
-> Target to get at least 5 self-composed by end of this year !
Doing remixes of existing songs, is one way to get the creative juices to kick in....
ive written maybe 3-5
I can't write music.. Maybe I need to lean this.
Whenever I get a good idea! Probably close to 50 per year.
I write about 15-20 songs a year. I have written over 100 songs some really good some very bad lol. I would like to make midi files of them but i havent found a good midi program that can make files somewhat accurate and isnt so difficult to use!
well i don't write it down...but i do stuff with my band make up the bass line....stuff like that
I write alot of lyrics. I love taking midi's and writing to them, kind of like Weird Al, but not weird...
20 in a year is definitely not that much. I've written about five different 3-5 minute classical pieces in the past week or two. I haven't any idea how many songs I write in a year, especially between guitar, bass, and then once I start thinking about midi composition.
Also, writing a lot doesn't at all mean it all sounds the same. That's why you use different keys, modulation, time signatures, etc... The only time I ever feel that I'm repeating myself is when I used to play in bands and so everything would sound really similar because we were going for a certain style, but I've definitely learned a lot since then and definitely try to be dynamic with the pieces I write. One day I'll start writing a bluesy/rock guitar song and the next I'll try to write a violin duet.
I write music almost everyday
yea whenever it just comes then its great... i write alot of things... some good some devastatingly horrible... but yea... music is music
