How long will it take to record 4.7GB Data on a new DVD-RW+ Drive?
Would Love to know, Thanx.
good question. I'm guessing over two hours since the dvd-r drive speeds are still slow and running at, what? 8x? 4.7gb is a a lot compared to a 700mb cd-r.
yeah, you do need 2 know how fast your write/re-write seed is. for example, my CD/RW drive is an old 4x Write 4x RE-Write 24x Read. (don't laugh!) it takes 15 min for me to record a full 80 min (700MB) CD but i can start it and leave it. that is wot i do
i am buying a sony DVD+RW Drive this week so I should be able to have a difinitive answer foe you
On the New Imac they have at school i belive it is like 3hours for 3.5GB at 2x if you dont verify it. but you can NOT get 4.7 on a blank dvd period, they mesure them differntly and there is the required information on them, 4.3 is i belive how big the Dvd-r's are, one sided on layered.
no, you can get up to 5GB here.
additional info on my above drive I now have a much faster 40x Write 16xREwrite 40x Read Drive
How long before we see 9GB DVDs? Are they out now? I can't wait to back up full movies!!
well, I wouldnt jump the gun just yet. those drives only do about 4 speed. I woulndt like to bur 9GB at 600KB/S (0.006gb/s)
