Please can you explain to me , in laymans terms , how to use a sample and trigger it using the keyboards . I use Cubase Vst . Im led to believe you assign the sample to a note ? , but im very confused . Any help appreciated . Thank you

Yes, I'd like to do pretty much the same, but use an electronic drum kit or drum trigger instead of the keyboard, to get a sample to play. If anyone can help, that'd be great.

    hmmm....easy but not so easy...
If you have an SBlive(and this is probably the easiest way) soundcard you can load a file called A soundfont(sf2) into your soundcard using somthing like voyetra(available FOC from creative labs) or another package called Awave.

To get premade SF2 files go to
    www.thesoundsite.net
    or
    www.hammersounds.net (I think)

Without going into alot of detail, this is the easiest way.
