    Hey all,

I didn't find this question in the FAQ's and I'm hoping that it's not too silly of a question: but what program is used to open files with the .kar extension? I just downloaded one and I'm not sure how to open it ;)

Any help would be appreciated, thanks.

Winamp is capable of playing kar files, and the associated karaoke text data. Winamp is free for download here: http://www.winamp.com/

Thanks all, I actually downloaded the karaoke player from vanbasco.com; it's great.

Now I must return to my karaoke experience... :)

you can also rename .kar files... just change the extension to .mid and your midi player will play them. .kar is an indicator that lyrics are embedded. .mid files CAN have lyrics embedded but its not a prerequisite!
