magix midi studio generation 5

    If i use this on my new computer with windows xp, it crashes :mad: . Anybody know how to fix it? Here are my system specs:

    AMD 64 3200+ 1mb l2 (@ 2.4 ghz)
    3x 512 gb DDR
    80 gb hd
    ATi Radeon 9800xt 256 mb

    Please help :( . Thnks

    The obvious answer would seem that it's not designed to run under XP - according to the specs, it's Windows 95/98/Me only.

    Try running it under compatablity settings for windows 98, and see what happens.

    i tried. Runs for some time, but still crashes with "magix music maker caused a general protection error at (something)"

    I actually had that prior to XP and got the program to function to some extent in XP but I could never get the entire program to function... I never had the problem you speak of though... then again I had quite a bit more memory but that shouldn't be an issue as you have plenty really... I do know plenty of people who have had issues even later than version 5 with XP and having issues similar to yours. I'll have to agree with the obvious though... it's just not going to work in compatibility mode entirely no matter what you do.

    On the brighter side at least it's not a relatively expensive software I believe I paid around $40 or $50 for mine at the time and there have been quite a number of updates since then...
