I figure some of you guys use midi, so you might be able to help me out
here. I was looking at retasking a standard midi pedalboard for use with
lights. Essentially, I want to be able to select between, say, 8 preset
"scenes" (as in stomp #1 and #1 is selected, stomp #4 and #1 is unselected
and #4 is selected, etc), with a couple on/off switches for blackout and
chaser. What I'm wondering is if any of the standard <$100 controllers are
going to be able to be programmed in this way (like the Rolls Midi Buddy,
for example), or if I'm going to be out of luck with the standard
controllers that are meant for guitar. The reason I like those is because
they are generally small and compact and easy to work with your feet. The
ones they make specifically for lights are extremely complex and cost more
than something I would want to risk spilling a whiskey and coke on.

A MIDI controller is a MIDI controller, it only controls a MIDI device. We
need a MIDI switcher for the lights then we can use the Rolls piece or any
    other controller.
