Does anyone know a free MIDI maker that makes MIDI's from .mp3's or .wav's? I've seen shareware versions that let you record 15 seconds and things...but I don't have the $ to register a program, and 15 seconds is useless, lol. Are there any good freeware MIDI programs? Thanks

There's no way that software can split a wave file or mp3 into a multitrack midi file - think about it - how will the software work out what is bass, guitar, trumpet etc from a mp3 and split that into different midi file tracks?

There is some software out there that can convert a monophonic (one instrument or voice only) wav file into a midi - I think I've even seen some pitch recognition software that lets you hum a tune into a microphone and it will make a midi file of that. But this is all one instrument stuff - you're not going to find software that will make a midi from your favourite band's CD.
