    Do any of the MIDIs on this site have the vocal tune? So far all 2 of the ones I have downloaded are just instrumental.
    I hope someone understands what I mean!

    Bethi... keep looking! SOME of the files you find will have the vocal line programmed in... now - you won't hear VOICES singing, that's not possible in this file format. But you will hear an instrument playing the vocal line to guide you as you're learning the piece.

    YES, you can add the vocal line (speaking instrumentally) in cakewalk... if you want to add yourself singing I would suggest different software as this is not cakewalk's forte.

    MIDI != digital audio
    There will never be vocal sounds in a MIDI rendering (excepting sampled sounds, which doesn't count). MIDI is not an audio music format. It is a set of instructions for a digital instrument to carry out in order to produce music. Some phones can (I think) have digital audio ringtones. These are not MIDI, and can be any sound the mind can conceive or a microphone can pick up. MIDI ringtones depend on the phone acting as a digital instrument to render general MIDI instructions into music via a mini-synthesizer in the phone itself. And ne'er the twain shall meet... (pardon the poetry). ;)

    I should perhaps have qualified my never with the fact that there exists software that attempts to vocalize using only MIDI data (Vocaloid), but it is not at present up to a reasonable fascimile of human singing.

    and what Jeanie said. :)

    okeydokey - instructions would be different pending the version of cakewalk you have, the equipment at your disposal, and your level of knowlege (musical).

    The KISS version: Open cakewalk and open the MIDI in cakewalk... choose an unused track and channel and start dragging and dropping appropriate notes into it....

    Yeah.. I know... that doesn't help much! Come back with some info and we'll go from there!

    Okay there doesn't help that much coz it would take me forever to figure out which note i need!
    I have 'Cakewalk PC music pack 2003' Don't know if that is much help or not!
