I'm having trouble with this particular midi. It's Blondie, One Way or Another. It plays great on my pc and sounds very good, however when I play it on my PSR640 Yahama Keyboard the drums disappear. The track is still there (track 10), the volume is up but it doesn't play. I've tried to write a new drum track however there is an off-beat section in the middle and the drums become off time. I'd love to use this song live but can't. Any ideas? :assskake:
I've taken a look at it in Cakewalk - The drums are sequenced over (looks like) 12 different tracks... Maybe your Yamaha is getting confused? When I get a second, I can try a few thing to it... K?
Attempt number 1... Ok ronnykelly - we'll try this first. I simply merged all 12 percussions tracks into a single channel 10 track in Cakewalk Pro. I played it back (paying at least partial attention to most of it) and everything sounded in correct sync. There are 2 files in the attached zip archive, both with merged drum tracks, but saved one as MIDI type 0 (just for the hell of it). Try these and see if that helped. I don't really know a lot about MIDI keyboards (or much of anything else for that matter), but it seemed to me that with 12 different channel 10 tracks, your Yamaha could be doing the ole "whaaaa?" :confused2 thing. Lemme know:thumbsup: p.s. I don't what it is about this song, but I've got it stuck in my head again - - - happens every time I hear it. I liked your sequence of it too.
Thanks a bunch. Should do the trick. Will take it home a try it out and let you know tomorrow. By the way the song was in the Movie Coyote Ugly which I just saw recently which is why I wanted the song. Workin with a female singer Saturday week so want it for then. Thanks again.
it's My experience that Yamaha keyboards don't reconise some tracks if you download the sequence out of your computer, but Casio Keyboards do. I think Yamaha are just weierd like that. Thats why I stick with my Casio and it's cool light-up-keys!
attached is a slightly modified version The Drum tracks were set to Controller 0 - Bank Select Method "normal"- Bank 2: this might have caused you problems with the Yamaha Keyboard especially if you use it in XG mode There was also some SysEx data at the beginninning of the track displaying the author's and the song title..I have removed these messages. I have saved the file as Midi0 altough the PSR640 (from what i can remember) has no issues with either formats. I have tested it on a Yamaha Mu50 in both modes Xg and Tg300b..these have the same sound module mappings as the PSR640 Hopefully this has been of some help.........
Sweet!! Didn't get time to check it last night. Was playing the first gig with new female vocalist. (Went down a storm, especially Flashdance, What a Feeling). Will give it a go tomorrow and let you know on Monday. Thanks again. Later, Ronny.
Worked a treat, thanks a bunch. Must dial up kazza and get me a cubase!! Thanks again, Ronny.
Sorry bout that Mr Advancedflea. The above message looks and sounds like I'm having a go at you . I'm not. Just being a tube am I!! Ronny.:cuddle:
