    Greetings Folks,

Go easy on me, it's my first original submission. Comments are welcome.

I should mention that I'm not terribly up to date on music forms: I probably don't know a hip from a hop. But I listened to some of Frogg007's Techno collection and that's what I thought this sounded like. Enjoy!

p.s. One problem I noticed is the timing in the Electric Tom in the break sections. I'm attacking on 3-e, which seems right, but it sounds like a retarded drummer who's drunk. :) Any suggestions? TIA

Edit: A slightly revamped version is available for free here:

    Thanks!

    Hi Frogg,

Sure, if you think it's worthy. That is the correct info. It's not a careful title - seem appropriate? Thanks for the encouragement.

    Thanks BOOsTER,

You're right, it's a bit rowdy, especially in the bass notes. Thanks for the compliment!

    Thanks, naleca.

Playing clubs isn't something I've honestly ever considered since I'm a full time software engineer. I really appreciate the compliments and comments!

You can hear more of my compositions on my web page (listed in my Profile), but there aren't really much more of the same, since I've been doing fairly eclectic work, trying to strengthen my composing chops.

IF you convert this to MP3 you could post it on MP3 dot com. you could start an artist page there. Very good midi, I like the sinister sound in the back round, sound kind of like a sexy dance eh! :))

I've started an artist page there, but haven't mastered any MIDIs well enough (I thought) to post yet. My masters always come out sounding hissy and distorted - perhaps my sound card (or lack of expertise ;))? Anyway, thanks indeed for the compliments!

    Power Dance

Technical – There is lots of very good panning, and you’ve even used modulation, but you’re going to have to learn to do something with the volume controls. Expression, velocity, and volume are all tools that will help you control the sound you wish to project. It may not have been called for in this Midi, but almost all the controls were set to 96 and (127), and I found no expression. You would be surprised what you can do with these tools, to enhance the music. Once you have learned to use these controls you will find yourself looking at other controls, like. Pedal, Hold, Sustain. The learning process seems to never end… .

Musically – You certainly have musical talent, and I’m sure we are all looking forward to your next song. Other than a few volume problems: Like when the drums seem to stand out too much. There is nothing bad one could really say about this song. Sometimes it all comes down to musical taste. For your first debut you have done very well indeed. Bravo.
    Thanks
