I was running happily with 2.80 but thought I'd give it a try and I'm quite happy with the result. The plug ins seem to be much better and it's back to the fast loading it had lost when 3.0 came out. Just want to see how other people liked it.

Back to the fast loading, but is it still bloatware? My system resources drain fast.

The new winamp has a smaller version for people with slower or older computers with low resources. If you're happy with 2.91 I think I'd just stck with it. AVOID 3.0. It's just not up to snuff in my opinion. 2.91 or 5.0 is the way to go.

I like it. It has all of the good feature of 3 with the speed of 2 with some extra goodies thrown it. Good compromise.

Yeah, I almost didn't go for it cause 3 really sucked compared to all the 2 versions. 5 is much nicer. They were even nice enough to put a version for slower machines as well. Big thumbs up guys.

I tried Winamp 5 for a while, but reverted back to 2.91.

IMO, that's the best version. Winamp 5 looks pretty, but drains resources like crazy. If I had a more powerful machine, I'd probably use it, but for my crappy Inspiron 3800, Winamp 2.91 is gold.

    Really?

Did you try the small version of it. The regular version has great skins but uses up alot of resources. There is a version that is mean't for computers with small resources. I just curious if that one bogged your computer down.

I switched into "Classic" mode, and it didn't help much.

Winamp 2.91 has never given me a problem.

I don't blame you for switching back. I guess it's not as friendly as I thought it would be. Still like the new one though. (I personally like 2.80 as it still had a crossfading plugin).

If you can't find it, I doubt you will be able to use the features it is known for. Have you tried www.winamp.com?

    Oooooh that was nasty.

Someone woke up on the wrong side of the bed.

Though it is really easy to find.

I'm using the new Winamp, i like the style of searching for your tunes in the media library rather than adding them again and again!
