I made this file with a demoversion of the original. It sounds much more different now than the original, but I even like it more this way. What about you?

That's fantastic... Is there some way I can mute the voice simulation on the track, though?

Yeah, just use an advanced midiplayer (I use Midiart, a German player, I guess you can download it somewhere) and mute the voice. You can also use a notation program (Sibelius, Midinotate, Cakewalk, Finale, enz.) and mute the voice.

I had a DEMO version of the MIDI, I got it from a website where you can buy MIDIs, but this one only contains a short part of the song. I made this MIDI by copying some parts (verse, intro) and by figuring out the rest of the song (chorus, bridge), for this I just added notes in the notation program (I'd have played it on my keyboard but I didn't have a MIDI cable by then). I found the tabs somewhere on the Internet, it really helps!
I normally use Sibelius for making MIDI's and sheet music, so I also did with this one.

No, it's an electric piano, or maybe even a guitar (I can't hear it and I've never seen them playing :s). By the way, there are a lot of other instruments used in the song (strings, drums, bass, etc.) and I ignored these.

I've heard the midi, and it seems to me that there's something left... (effects, sounds?, notes? )but good job!
