    Hey all

I am thinking about getting a pitch shifter box so I can use my guitar as a substitute bass. I got interested in the idea when I heard that there is no bass on "Seven Nation Army" - just a guitar...Nice bit of useless information there! :p

I'm recording stuff on my p.c. with midi drums and vocal.

    Can anyone recommend one?

    Thanks,
    Ben

My only words of advice are to go into your local guitar shop and check them all out. Some sound incredibly digital, especially in the lower notes. I've got a zoom 8080 (which I don't REALLY use for it's pitch shifting in any fashion or form) and when you start to play notes (like your low g (on the E string)) with the pitch shift effect on, well, it really does sound crappy. I reckon to try them out and go for the one that seems to keep your tone true.
