I've studied briefly into medicine and MJ reaps so many medical benefits that the government is denying people. Personal usage, I agree with as well. The longterm affects of MJ are less than that of alcohol and there are no carcinogens such as in cigarettes. We're allowed to give ourselves chemical co-dependency and cancer according to the government apparently. The only restriction I put on it, is that I do'nt think people should drive under the influence, and the consequences should be the same as a DUI, but other than that, I don't think anything else should matter.

Ok, I didn't read the full topic, but this is what I have to say:
Why not, it's much less harmfull than Cigarettes! (Yes, it's true)
It can be used for medicinal purposes (rarely, but it still can be)
It would clean up some of the under-ground drug dealing...put those people out of buisiness!

But seriously...It probably wont happen, even if it does...they do need limitations on selling it!

I think they should legalise it, but personally I prefer a cigarette (sorry health freaks) and a Gin & Tonic.

Re: Marujana being less harmful than cigarettes I saw a 60 Minutes where they were showing how doctors use marujana to wean chain smokers off cigarettes!

Hmmm so they're giving people an illegal drug to cure them of a legal one... Just me or is something F*cked up with that?

SEX, DRUGS, and ROCK n ROLL.
Legalizing it will make it cheaper. Whoever wants to get out of control it's his problem. Take for example Holland. The cups won't say to you a word if you have weed in the allowed amount. If they find something else they will f*** you up. So it is wise to get high just by smoking, if you need to get high, and you keep out of trouble by just not getting involved in other kind of drugs.

Besides whatever is illegal is more "sweet". If weed is legalized less people will use it.

To back up my previous theory I will set a true example. In Greece were I live right now nobody is really interested in alchohol because there is no law that makes it illegal for any age.
On the other side when I used to live in the U.S. I noticed that alcohol is such a big problem because it is illegal if you are under 21.
    Same thing with smoking.

In Greece everybody is smoking weed just because it's illegal. And nobody says anything about alcohol which is sientificly proven to be more dangerous.
If you drink more than 2 lt of alcohol about 33% proof it's more likely to get a kind of food poisoning. You need to smoke about 20 kilos of weed to get any kind of poisoning and yet the possibilities are very low.

So just legalize it and get the cups of my back!!!!!!!!

I'm a bit confused, most people's comments I've seen seem to be positive, at least for medical usage, but so far the largest percentage of the vote is for No? I can only conclude the people voting no either don't have anything negative to say or can't think of any justifiable reasons for their vote hmmm.

If you legalize it for personal use, you could get some seriously bad stuff happening. Not to mention a country full of potheads.

Im very suprised at the poll results. I thought this MB users would be a bit more lefty.
Did anyone see Montel Williams the when he admitted to daily use of marijuana illigally? He made some really good points. Such as...
    1. Television advertises legal drugs for everthing ( depression, weight loss, sexual potency..) with very strange side effects. Why are those chemicals legal when this plant is not? Especially for Cancer and AIDS victims, who could deffiently make use of the "drug".
