Yes indeed - one of my best purchase decisions .
... and is it really worth the extra cash?
Absolutely no doubt about it.
Lynx really do know what they're about. The difference between one of their cards and a Soundblaster is like chalk and cheese! Check out http://www.pcavtech.com/soundcards/compare/index.htm for the relevant figures. See where the Creative cards sit in relation to many other better ones.
Look at it another way - this card has seen me through for some six years now - and I'm still using it. It might have cost a lot of money, but if I'd bought something 'lesser', I'd only have ended up upgrading it - maybe two or three times - only to end up where I am now. That would have been more expensive!
Alright. I'll look into getting one, I'm sure I can get one relatively cheap if I look around.
They rarely appear on the second user market - most people seem to keep them forever. The few that I have seen usually go for around $300-350.
Good luck - if you do buy one, I know you won't be disappointed.
I agree, cool edit pro is the best.
