Hey, I'm trying to get MAGIX MIDI Studio, v6. Does anyone know if it's compatible with Windows XP? I had version 5, but it worked when I had 98, and didn't make the transition.

I'm afraid it does not under any compatability setting. It is still compatible with Win2000, but I'm sure you're not planning on downgrading for this software. Perhaps you should look into a more productive and feature-packed MIDI sequencer/editor, such as Cakewalk or Cubase for the future. A free alternative in the meantime is Anvil Studio.

I already have Cakewalk Sonar 2, and am looking into getting Sonar 3. Thanks very much for the advice, I'll check out Anvil Studio.

i've got magix audio and midi studios ver 7 and they are ,so far,my faves for ease of use...also cheaper than those others...i haven't had any success mixing midi with audio yet (see my posts)
but i'm making the most progress with reason 2.5 and fruity loops.
magix is great for the price,tho...i have xp,so short answer, yes for 7...no idea on 6
