roland midi pickups

    How are these mounted? Do you have to screw them into the wood?

    The actual bridge pickup, yes--the switch box, no--you can velcro it.

    If you're willing to mess around with a variety of shims, glue and double sided
    tape the pickup can be made to work. If you're using it in a studio situation
    it might be fine, but I wouldn't consider it a heavy duty gigging arrangement.
    Distance between strings and pickups (very close) is critical to tracking.
