I love my 8850, but the problem I have (sometimes) is that not all sequences have reset messages both in the beginning AND in the end. I am still a novice, and I was wondering how I can effectively insert these messages in my sequences. I know it is probably something as simple as a program change for every channel, but I dont know what it is!
any help would be appreciated! (I use Cakewalk for my editing)

    Hi seacruzinal,

You should insert a system exclusive message at the beginning of your file. This is the message for a GM reset: F0 7E 7F 09 01 F7
but, this message is turning the GM mode on ! If you just want to reset the controllers such as pitch bend, modulation etc... you could insert a channel reset on every midi channel in your file header. This channel reset is a control change message: cc 121

    Kind regards,
    Alain

    Hi,
If you are using Cakewalk, then just open the sysex window (file-view-sysx) click on "load bank from file" , and choos gs-reset.syx
and the click on the arrow that says "auto send bank" next to abc
    and save the file.
    you shouldn't have a problem.

    all the best
    warren
