Watched a video from the G3 concert recently, and he can get these screaming
feedback sounds which he modulates with the trem bar , like no other
gutarist in the world. I was wondering how he is doing it...it looks like
he has both hands down around the volume controls when he initiates the
    sound.

Hit the harmonic on the G string, 3rd fret , with lots of distortion and
compression if you have it. Pump away on the whammy. Simple.

Yeah, that same harmonic (3rd string, 3rd fret, can be hit down near
    the bridge pup.

Yeah, it's something like that. Mostly, I think what he's doing with his
hands is more for show than anything. I've watched the Live Satch thing and
the G3 thing and tried to actually see what he was doing. From what I see,
he's just hitting "some" harmonic somewhere and pulling up on the bar.

If you haven't seen the double live DVD, go get it. It's way better than the
G3 DVD. Satch is amazing on it. 2 hours, and no screw ups. No punches.

Yes, and does appear to be what he's doing. It's almost like slight of hand
though. Like he's trying to make it "look" cool as well as sound cool.

BTW, that's a line from "Arizona Star", off
Guy Clark's latest. Fine album - "so dark
    you can smell the moon".
