I use a yamaha psr-2000 but i don't like the sequencer on this keyboard. I prefer to use cakewalk pro 9. I had a roland mc-50 before and it's better than the one in the psr-2000.

I use sonar for sequencing my midi files but use sound fonts to make the sound better. Some sound fonts are midi compatible so if you have the right sound car and software you can replace that awfull midi sound with real like sampled sounds. It makes the drums sound awaesome!:p

I use Logic Audio Platinum v5.2 for full-on sequencing. Fruity Loops for Drum Loop architecture, Cakewalk Pro Audio 9 for scoring (Cakewalk still has the best midi features), Nuendo for film-scoring/surround editing, and on occasion I do mixes with ACID:assskake: :boink:

Oh, I also use a Korg Triton when i'm at the studio, it's alright, but not my thing. I prefer sequencing and editing with software, and sound and architecture with hardware.

    Sequencer

At home I use Power Tracks Pro Audio, for live solo backing I have a Roland MC-50 mk II hardware sequencer. Great little box.

for making MIDI sequences I use Cakewalk 9 and my mouse. I convert the MIDI to WAV using Audio Compositor and Soundfonts. For live playback I mixdown the WAV's and convert to mp3s @ 160kb/sec and use a CD - MP3 player for playback, can fit about 120 songs per disk. Eventually i want to use the computer at gigs so I can execute Guitar FX patch changes and vocal FX parameter/patch changes.

I use Cubase VST with Roland JV880 and EMU Classic Keys modules. The Piano is excellent on the Roland and the Hammond B3 is great on the EMU. Also use SampleTank for the really excellent samples.
