Well, I'm a big Cakewalk Fan, the New Sonar2 is awesome. It is also very user friendly.
    Cheers

I use Digital Performer with a Macintsh G3 laptop hooked to my Roland XP-50 for live performance. In our studio we use a Kurzeil K2500XS with Digital Performer. I think Digital Performer only works with Mac, but I may be wrong. If you have a PC, Cakewalk works in a similar way. However, I know that all the big boys have been using Digital Performer and, thus Macintosh for recording applications, such as Pro Tools for years now.

There's too many sequencers out there to generalize, I use cubase, but logic seems to be going pretty well, when you decide, make sure you stick to that one and learn everything there is to know about that particular one
