I am new here & new to midi/wav files, so please be gentle. I have a midi file that I want to make shorter - actually, I want it to start later in the song. Is there a possible way (and easy) for me to do this?

use a midi sequencer to edit the midi file. a good one that I use thats free is jazz++ or just do a google search on free midi sequencers.

with jazz++ it is simply a matter of cutting the sections of music you want omitted. the blank space can be repaired by cutting the section of music you need and pasting it in the blank space instead
