I would also like info on this - it would be great if it is possible to convert music or cd tracks to midi - but I have never heard of any program that does it yet...

i have tried a few, spend ages lookgin for them, but none of them seem to work very well at all, really don't work with multiple harmonies, drums, etc.

The best I've found so far will transcribe a single-line melody to MIDI.

Otherwise, you'll need to develop, and then depend on your ears.

There is really no program out there, that can make a song into a good quality midi. the programs that are available now,can do this sort of thing but they don't do a good job and you don't really get a good midi quality.

It'll take some more years before a computer could destinguish a single instrument in a complete song. There are efforts in converting a single solo track of a single instrument into midi, but as it only works for a sole track....
