Tuning a string to F

    Ok...sorry if this is a stupid question....but i have an electric guitar tuner....and i can never seem to tune a string to F....it jumps from E to G....can anyone give me some tips on how to tune a string to F? thanks

    Is it a cromatic tuner?
    Also check your strings, my low E has problems when it gets old responding to the tuner, replace it and it works fine, go figure!

    From E to G ?..that's a big jump. You're best bet would be a chromatic tuner as mentioned above but they can be expensive. BTW...why do you want to tune your low E string to an F anyway ?...;)
