Any vocal instructors interested in swopping ideas?
    Need tips? ... I'm a singing teacher.

One of the first bits of advice to my students is to learn to play an instrument ... what say you?

And yes.... a wind instrument with a free flow airstream gives students more breath control and idea of a steady pitch. A keyboard instrument gives them ability to accompany themselves. Once, when teaching a tuba player on a 20th Century somewhat-atonal piece, I ordered him to go home and learn to sing the whole song. In learning to sing the pitches in-tune he also learned to play them that way..... the crossover is amazing.

Do you teach breathing strength excercises?

BTW.... this site is an excellent resource ;)

another thing i tell my kids, is to go swim.
    4 crotchets crawl
    8 quavers kicking
note breathing, push out suck in.
    cool idea huh!
i taught myself to swim crawl properly through learning to sing first.... but then i left school early, studied, and then finished our school here, which is different to what you guys have there.
    oh dear.
    all twisted
    i am tired
    need my 8 hours sleep.
