Are there any better software then Akoff music composer (akoff.com) and Intelliscore polyphonic (intelliscore.net) on the marked today. Is there any software that converts a cd into midi, that reconises the different instuments and make midi scores with drumms? Where can I read more about this, and what will the future bring.
    Thanks

There is currently no software that can distinguish the instrument and the note that was made and convert it to midi, nor will that type of software be available in the future due to complexity of recognizing different instruments and notes, and filtering out vocals.

All of the automatic ones don't work very well but there is a semi manual one called Score Extractor that gets good results, get it from www.scoreextractor.com

Actually those WAV-to-MID convertes really only work with one instrament at a time, and even then the results are questionable. :(
