I was just wondering.....is it really expensive to gather all of your hardware, software etc. to make MIDI files. I've really gotten into it latley and am looking for some to put on my website but does it cost a lot to make them or does it cost anything at all?

If you already have a computer (which I'm sure you do or you wouldn't have been able to post this message) the cost would be minimal. If you are just putting music on a website and are downloading midi files from the web you don't even need a midi sequencer program, just an html editor.

If you want to create your own original midi files you'll have to use a sequencer program like Cakewalk (which is kind of expensive but has a lot of bells and whistles) or you can just download one of the freebies from download.com. Just do a search for midi sequencer and you'll find some programs with free trials, etc. Experiment first before you buy anything and see which program works best for you.
