I need to know
U mean a sequencer?
(sequencing is the process done by the sequencer)
Making and storing note information in a sequencer. This information later makes a playback on any midi device. Works almost like a recorder but you only store information on note velocity, pitch bend, instrument patches to be used and so on.
Download a midi file and listen to it. Its small but it plays like an orchestra. It cannot be an recording due to the size. Its midi signals only. And its.....sequenced.
sequencers can be software or hardware.. its basically like an arranger - arranges the parts into certain areas etc
Another way to look at midi sequencers is as the musical equivalent to a wordprocessor. You get the basics down and then cut, copy and paste parts around as required.
Separate names with a comma.
