ive been tryin out different music recognition software thats been out there... i want to convert my mp3's and wavs to midi coz ill be using them on my phone... ill probably convert them into beatnik format as well... to save space and to make them sound better. recognisoft's program sounds like crap in the conversion while widi doesnt respond well... ive tried tallstick and digital ear... they both suck. what should i do?

i remember seeing a pretty good one, although of course it was still quite limited you could tweak a lot of options and if you spent some time with it you could get good results...I think it was called Polyphonic Soundbrain.

    Intelliscore

    Have you tried intelliscore?
this piece of software can render .wav/.mp3 to .mid.
Good for monophonic though. Fair in polyphonic.

    regards

i've had very bad results with intelliscore. Try "widi". (search it in google). I've got better results. The midi from a wav-piano music is hearable, put not printable. but there is NO solution to convert something like pop or rock songs. Believe it.

    I only try intelliscore.
i don't know if there is something better but it works quite good
but you need to change instrument because if you don't it will be all in piano and it sounds really bad
you can download a trial versions here:
    http://www.intelliscore.net/

PS: the demo only convert the fifteen first second
before listening to it you should work it out with a midi editor
    good luck

    Sequencers work?

Before I came here yesturday, I had searched for weeks for a midi sequencer that would function properly, and not return a ton of static-like sounds that are supposedly "music". But if this intelliscore actually works in sequencing complex, techno songs into midi, I will be very suprised.
