just about every song made today uses midi in one way or another. This forum is made to help us in a way. Midi is basically the language used to record melodies, unless you are recording directly from sound to tape. You guys know what i mean.

Midi is great to take directly from the computer to your keyboard. You can store many on a floppy and have a wonderful assortment of music.

MIDIs are the best format for game creation and such things, but also, if you want the note sheet for a song, you could not use a .wav file.

I don't want to sound like a total newbie (which I am), but what does MIDI actually stand for? I imagine it's an acronym. Thanks!

I use it to compose my own songs (more techno and trance like music). For every single song I use a different soundbank, so I don't get stuck with the origial Midi-instruments, cos there really boring). It's ideal because you can edit each instrument on it's own. Change speed, level, pitch and so on..) Try that with mp3 :).

Ofcfcourse when a song is finished I convert it to mp3
