You listen to them, or you use them as backing tracks for live performances.

MIDI - Musical Instrument Digital Interface - is very useful to create songs. It works with several tracks that can be mapped into channels. New MIDI systems support up to 16 channels. Channel 10 is usually reserved for DRUM sets. The others, you can assign one instrument.
For my personal use, I use MIDI files for karaoke, get the music sheet (score) from songs, record my own compositions from my synthetizer to the PC (via MIDI ports), and so on...
And best of all, MIDI files are very small! Normally smaller than 100Kb, since the only information on the file is the tracks, channels assignements, key notes, speed, duration, etc...

    Cheers!
    :)

We use them for backing tracks for our group. You can change keys, volumes, instruments etc...they're very versatile. Or else you could use them as ringtones for your phone.

(sorry for my so bad english !)!

The answer is simple : because you are a musician !

MIDI system permit anything ! Just must to learn to use this !
You can write in a score with anything , including your voice ! Just make a suitable sf2 bank and use it ! If you know enough musical theory , you can write anything ! How many times you tried to increase or decrease the pitch of a sampler ? Forget this !
Use a program like this :

    and discover the world !
