XP PRo seems alot more stable. I rarely have problems and when i do it's usually the software i use. I reinstalled 98 once and got alot of "Windows has performd an illegal operation" I've never see that in XP...

I just formatted my HD two nights ago due to currupt Audigy KX drivers that would not reinstall. Fortunately, I was able to back up all the important stuff.

i cant say im a big fan of windows xp either. had it for 6 months now, and even though i've got a 2.8ghz pc, its still causing me problems with my games. im sure its having an adverse effect on my AOL broadband and kazaa as well.

It might be AOL and you're spyware version of Kazza. I ran AOL BB and kazaa on a 1.2 gig celeron and it runs fine.

I tried XP but could not get on with it. Run all the computers on Win98 Second Edition and have no problem with Cubase. They are all 1.00 Ghz machines with 512 PC133 memory and SB Live so not state of the art. Record at my friends and he uses AMD Athlon 1Ghz, 256 DDR and Win 98 Second Edition with SB Audigy. Records excellent live guitar through a POD. Really good original music and it never crashes! Have used Windows 2000 for ordinary computing and it seems to be very stable, not used it for music yet. Anybody else used it for music?

I really like Windows XP. Don't have any stability issues at all. Maybe you need a hardware upgrade?

I find XP fast enough on my machine, just as snappy as 2000, but a little more complete in functionality...

What are the specs of your system? I have a newer rig, and I find XP is snappy enough.
It is scalable, and you can lower the visual setting down to a level that you might find better.

    Xp is better tahn other

You sure need a better computer, try just to add ram and you should see a difference. XP is one of the best for security but you have to know how it works.

I still use Windows 2000 it's much better than XP! 2000 actually works with almost all of my software XP won't that much of it.

I run WinXP Pro on a old P1 300MHz and it runs 10x better then Win98. I've had no problems with it being insecure, you just have to be carefull.
