i agree with supastar..while yes, it might be annoying, i think the advantages far outweigh any minor half of a little piece of effort you may have to put in in order to get these midis...by the way, this counts as one of my five *grins*

Hmmm... Okay, another few cents off a newbie. Still working up to my big five. One thing about this rule, encourages you to get around the boards a bit more, doesn't it?
I can understand why the rule's in place. But when you've been trawling round the net looking for this one MIDI, and the only place that has it is here... an ickle bit annoying. I saw this site a long time ago, but was scared away by the restriction.
But, well, those files aren't going anywhere... guess it's a small price to pay for access to such a wide collection. I'm not a professional musician, and I don't have the cash to buy pro downloads. I use midi music purely for personal projects, and don't need the quality. Just something to hum along to. And this site's the best archive I've ever seen. (Don't I sound like a suckup? :p)
One thing, though. To my eyes, it just encourages a bunch of spammy posts quickly, stuff downloaded quickly, then the user clears off - you say it'll encourage community, but it's too easy not to post after you've reached the quota. I never saw any time restriction on this. If you want people to keep posting actively, there needs to be some sort of cut off. Just my thoughts. Anyone agree?

I agree with the 5 post rule but some of the messages I've been reading is just basic "ya, I agree" which basically serves no purpose but to increase the thread length because people just post to gain the 5 posts.

The 5 post rule didn't really sound attractive to me first, but then I started posting.. I must say there's a reason why I like the rule after all. I actually look through differentthreads to find my way into telling my opinion anyways.

Something I usually don't do straight away. What can I say? I'm shy :p.
